Privacy Policy — AI Tab Organizer
Last updated: March 2026
What data we access
AI Tab Organizer reads the title, URL, and domain of your open browser tabs solely to generate grouping suggestions. This data is sent to the AI provider you configure (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or Google Gemini) using your own API key.
What we do NOT do
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your tab data to any server we operate.
- We do not store your API keys anywhere other than your browser's local sync storage (
chrome.storage.sync), which is private to your Chrome profile.
- We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or any third-party telemetry.
- We do not sell or share any data.
Third-party AI providers
When you click Analyze, your tab titles and URLs are sent to the AI provider you selected. Each provider has its own privacy policy:
Your API key is sent directly from your browser to the provider — it never passes through our servers.
Local storage
The extension stores the following locally in your browser only:
- Your API key(s) — in
chrome.storage.sync, synced across your own Chrome profile
- Tab visit counts — used to prioritise frequently visited tabs
- Your settings (model choice, grouping preferences)
Permissions explained
- tabs — required to read tab titles and URLs for grouping
- tabGroups — required to create and manage Chrome tab groups
- storage — required to save your API key and preferences
- alarms — required for the optional auto-organize feature
